WILLIAM G. JOHNSON

William Guy Johnson, 88, died Feb. 7, 1995.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laurine Chilton Johnson. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a retired employee of both the American Viscose and Masonry Contractors Inc. of Salem. He was a member of Belmont United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis J. and Earl A. Young of Salem, and Peggy J. and David O. Holmes of Virginia Beach; one grandson and wife, William I. ``Butch'' and Kathy Young of Vinton; two great-grandchildren, William Brian Young and Emily Beth Young, both of Vinton.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Oakey's South Chapel, Roanoke, by the Rev. Sam E. McPhail. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Belmont United Methodist Church, 806 Jamison Ave S.E., Roanoke, Va. 24013. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
