Ruth Evett Ballard, 88, a homemaker, of Sentara Way, died Feb. 6, 1995.
She was a native of Norfolk and was the widow of Roger Lee Ballard. She was a member of Memorial Unioted Methodist Church in Virginia Beach, and also the Red Cross Canteen Corps, Southside District, during World War II.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert R. and Donna Ballard of Virginia Beach; and grandchildren, Robert Ray Ballard of Chesapeake, Dr. William L. Ballard of Marietta, Ga., and Lynn B. Thornes of Dayton, Ohio; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Holloman-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, by the Rev. Joseph T. Carson. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Memorial United Methodist Church, 804 Gammon Road, Virginia Beach, Va. 23464.
