Booker T. Washington's Michael Basnight, who ran for 1,005 yards and scored 14 touchdowns, signed a football letter of intent with North Carolina A&T Tuesday.
Basnight is the second Booker T. player to sign with a Division I-AA program this season. Quarterback Michael Beverly signed with William and Mary last week.
Basnight also visited James Madison and canceled a visit to Pitt. Booker T. coach Larry Stepney said Basnight qualifies academically for NCAA freshman eligibility. North Carolina A&T competes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Basnight said the coaching staff indicated he will be given an opportunity to start as a freshman ``and that was important. No matter where I went that was a consideration for me.'' by CNB
