EVERETTE L. WIMBLEY

Mr. Everette Lassie Wimbley, age 72 of Rt. 2, Box 35 Wedgewood Lakes in Moyock, N.C., died Wednesday, February 8 at Albemarle Hospital. He was a native of Johnson Co., N.C., a machinist and Automobile Mechanic and a Baptist. Mr. Wimbley was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Wimbley was the son of the late Ruffin Henry and Marybelle Thompson Wimbley and the husband of Sarah Marie Hoskin Wimbley.

Besides his wife, Mr. Wimbley is survived by six daughters, Linda Coy of Moyock, Betty Brown, and Lea Moehring, both of Currituck, N.C., Janice Hicks of Grandy, N.C., Hilda Parrish of Portsmouth, Va. and Carol Wright of Chesapeake, Va.; four sons, Everette C. Wimbley and Preston A. Wimbley, both of Chesapeake, Va., Ronald Wimbley of Alabama and Henry C. Wimbley of Fayetteville, N.C.; one sister, Esterbelle Lane of Dunn, N.C.; twenty four grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11, in Twiford's Northside Chapel, 1115 N. Road St., Elizabeth City, N.C. Rev. Bobby Skeens and Chaplain Elwood Ritchie will officiate. Burial will follow in Laurel Memorial Gardens at Poplar Branch, N.C., with military honors.
