FREDERICK E. WILLIAMS

Frederick Eugene ``Gene'' Williams, 63, of the 5800 block of Chippewa Road, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, died Feb. 7, 1995, in Virginia Beach.

Mr. Williams was born in Princeton, W.Va. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with White Tower restaurants after 35 years and also was recently employed by Bojangle's restaurants. He was a member of Carrow Baptist Church and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Nocella Williams; a daughter, Carolyn Williams Harris and her husband, Chip, of Quinton, Va.; a son, Eugene Ralph Williams of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Loretta Snow of Chesapeake and Wanda Starnes of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, Woodrow W. Williams of Woodlawn, Va., and John C. Williams of Richmond, Va.; and three grandchildren, Chad Wilson Harris and wife Penny of Richmond, Va., and Brian Thomas Harris and Tracey JoAnn Harris, both of Quinton, Va. He was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Gibson of Chesapeake.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Carrow Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. A. Kenneth Carlton Jr. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at the residence, 5804 Chippewa Road, Virginia Beach. Memorial donations may be made to Carrow Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society.
