Jack A.P. Currier, 82, of Magnolia Street, a retired foreman, died Feb. 7, 1995 in Virginia Beach.
Mr. Currier was born in Cambridge, Mass. He retired from Simplex Wire and Cable Co. in Massachusetts; was a member of Port Charlotte Baptist Church, Port Charlotte, Fla.; lifetime member of American Legion Post 820 in San Diego, Calif.,and the V.F.W. in Port Charlotte, Fla.; U.S. Naval veteran of World War II and was in the first wave at Normandy as a Sea Bee. He was also in the third wave at Okinawa and received a commendation from Adm. John Forrestal. He also was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Medal with 1 Star, The American Area Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal with 1 Star.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Hazel Currier; a daughter, Dawne M. Currier of Virginia Beach; a son, Joseph J. Currier of Brockton, Mass.; two sisters, Julia Coutino of Massachusetts and Lillian Rose of Maine; and two grandsons, John and Paul Currier.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, by the Rev. Robert F. Pittman III. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
