Craig S. Wansink, assistant professor of Biblical Studies at Virginia Wesleyan College, will be the guest speaker at the Second Tuesday Forum Series at noon Tuesday at the newly opened TCC Visual Arts Center, High and Court streets.
Wansink's topic, ``Claustrophobic Monks Without Xerox Machines,'' will explore the life of the Apostle Paul during his imprisonment in Rome. His talk will depict how Paul's social context influenced his rhetoric and ethical reflection with early Christian communities, while incorporating the relationship between early Christians and the Greco-Roman society in which they lived.
The Second Tuesday Forum Series is sponsored by the Portsmouth Public Library and is funded by grants from the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and the Portsmouth General Hospital Foundation. All forums are free and open to the public. Reservations are not needed to attend. Complimentary beverages are provided.
