RACHEL S. WILLIAMS

Rachel S. Williams, of the 2500 block of Hale St., died Feb. 7, 1995, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Williams was born in Wilson, N.C. She was a sales clerk for Hadassah Thrift Store, a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, president of the Pastor's Aide Club, former member of Johnson, Newsome Matthew Memorial Club, former president of the Floral Club.

Survivors include two sisters, Lizzie Thomas and Mandie Scarbour, both of Philadelphia, Pa.; an uncle, Hallie Williams of Norfolk; an aunt, Ruth Stewart of Philadelphia, Pa.; nephew, Vester Thomas of Middletown, Conn.; niece, Hedy Thomas Bullock of Virginia Beach; 10 grandnephews, grandnieces, six great-grandnephews and nieces and a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Mary Pugh and Ollie Scarbour.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, Norfolk, by Dr. I. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Saturday. Family and friends will assemble at 2500 Hale St. (Apt. (NU)2), Norfolk (Lindenwood section) at noon Saturday for funeral processional to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
