Clarissa Edith Virginia Walker, 45, of the 800 block of Erik Paul Drive, died Thursday in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mrs. Walker was born in Norfolk. She had taught at Sherwood Forest Elementary School, Norfolk, for 20 years. Mrs. Walker was a 1968 graduate of Norview High School and a 1972 graduate of Old Dominion University. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She was a member of the Norfolk Teachers Association, VEA and NEA; the Tidewater Council of Boy Scouts, Pack Chairperson, Cub Scout Pack 48; Delta Zeta-National Honorary Sorority; and Great Bridge Baseball.
Survivors include her husband, Don L. Walker of Chesapeake; her mother, Clarissa Boyce Brillion of Norfolk; her father and his wife, Paul C. and Carol Brillion of Virginia Beach; three sons, Justin Lloyd Walker and Nicholas Paul Walker, both of Chesapeake, and Christopher Lee Walker of Virginia Beach; two sisters and their husbands, Francine and James Williams of Virginia Beach and Debra and James Lacy of Chesapeake; and one brother and his wife, Paul C. and Linda Brillion of Norfolk.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Prince of Peace Catholic Church by Father Christian Haydinger. Interment will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clarissa Walker Scholarship Fund, Sherwood Forest Elementary School, 3035 Sherwood Forest Lane, Norfolk, Va. 23513.
