Edna E. West Peebles, 84, of the 1700 block of Canton Ave., a homemaker, died Feb. 8, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Mrs. Peebles was born in Norfolk, the daughter of the late James E. Sr. and Mamie Eason West. She was the widow of Joseph Hughes Peebles and was a member of Metropolitan AME Church and the Woman's Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline P. Clemons; a son, Joseph L. Peebles Sr., both of Norfolk; a sister, Mrs. Annie West Williams of Norfolk; a brother, Dr. Charles West of Chesapeake; three grandchildren, Joseph L. Peebles Jr., Victor A. Peebles and Vernell V. Peebles; two stepgrandchildren, Carlton McClunney and Velnita Dunham; a great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Julius C. Williams; sister-in-law, Vivian B. West; and two nieces, Marlene Randall and Jean Dickens.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Metropolitan AME Church, 1710 Springfield Ave., Norfolk, by the Rev. Richard A. Council. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Riddick Funeral Service. The family will receive friends at 1722 Canton Ave. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
