George Grandy Sr. of the 100 block of Welch Road, died Feb. 9, 1995.
Mr. Grandy was born in Norfolk County and was retired from the Elizabeth River Terminal. He was a member of New Weeping Mary Baptist Church, Chesapeake, and the Trustee Borad and was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Grandy; five daughters, Eva Howell of Warrenton, N.C., Brenda Hosbrouck of Chicago, Lillian Grimes of Boston, Ann Grandy of Washington, and Lisa Simmons of Chesapeake; a son, George Grandy Jr. of Washington; a brother, Clinton Grandy of Chesapeake; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in New Weeping Mary Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. John C. Smith. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
