POLICE CAR, OTHER CAR INVOLVED IN COLLISION AT BEACH INTERSECTION

No one was seriously hurt Friday night when, with emergency lights and sirens on a police car going through a busy intersection was hit by another car.

That car's driver told police he didn't see the police car or hear its siren. No charges were filed.

The accident happened at 7:17 p.m. at Diamond Springs Road and Northampton Boulevard.

The police car had the red light and had slowed before entering the intersection, police said.

All other traffic had stopped, and the police car was moving through when an Isuzu Trooper went around one of the stopped cars and entered the intersection. The Isuzu hit the side of the police car and then collided with another car.
