BRIEFS

ENDORSED FOR JUDGESHIP: The Virginia Beach Bar Association on Friday endorsed lawyer Bobby W. Davis for a new judgeship in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

The bar association considered, but did not endorse, five other candidates: Theresa B. Berry, Randolph C. DuVall, W. Edward Hudgins Jr., Clifford Love III and Ramona Taylor.

The state legislature probably will create the new judgeship, and appoint the new judge, within the next two weeks. Virginia Beach already has five judges in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, which hears cases involving child custody, juvenile crime and family crime.

Davis is an Oceanfront lawyer, in practice 13 years, specializing in family law and personal injury law.
