If D. D. Delaney (letter, Jan. 28) would like to think that the term ``bleeding-heart'' somehow points to a resemblance between liberals and Christ, he should keep in mind that when Christ helped the poor he didn't do it with money taken from people against their will. Laws which penalize hard-working middle-class people in order to support an ever-growing population of people who think the world owes them a living are not Christlike.
