John F. Throneburg Jr., 72, of the 2700 block of St. Mihiel Ave., a retired shop foreman, died Feb. 11, 1995, in Hampton, Va.
Mr. Throneburg was born in Prince Edward County, Va. He had been retired for 10 years from Ames and Webb after 35 years service. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Norfolk, was a Navy veteran of World War II and the widower of Dora Elizabeth Throneburg.
Survivors include four daughters, Marcia D. Hodgkins and Grace T. Pinkham, both of Chesapeake, Deborah L. Lyons of Norfolk and Mary Beth Blackman of Anaheim, Calif.; three sons, Larry Robert Throneburg and Arthur Allen Throneburg, both of Virginia Beach, and John Franklin Throneburg III of Chesapeake; a brother, Charles L. Throneburg of Raleigh, N.C.; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two stepsons, Alan Driggers of Norfolk and Gary Driggers of Mountain City, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Corice O. Throneburg and John F. Throneburg Sr.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, from 3 to 4 p.m. today.
