OVERPAID BROADCASTERS

There is a debate going on now in Congress, and another in our own General Assembly, on the merit of public tax money going to public broadcasting.

For many years I supported, with some hard-earned money, the public station in Norfolk, WHRO Channel 15.

Several years ago the Richmond-Times Dispatch published the salary of the president of WHRO along with that of the head of the Richmond station.

These two salaries compared very favorably with the salaries paid the CEOs of many Fortune 500 companies, yet the stations were always begging money.

This hypocrisy so disgusted me that I stopped all contributions.

You will do a real public service if you will publish these salaries again during these debates.
