ALICE C. KING

Alice Carter King, 68, went to be with the Lord, after a long and courageous fight, on Feb. 11, 1995 at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital. She was born in Scotland Neck, N.C., on Feb. 12, 1926, and was a member of the Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church - Kilby Shores, the ``Lottie Jordan Sunday School Class,'' the ``Suffolk After Five'' Womens Club, the ``Oak Ridge Sewing Bee,'' and was retired from the Thomas J. Lipton Tea Co. after 30 years of service.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Ralph B. King; her mother, Mrs. H.O. Carter of Suffolk; a son, Kenneth B. King of Suffolk; a daughter, Faye K. Milteer of Port Smith, Ark.; three grandchildren, Tracy M. Sapp, Trina Milteer and Heath Milteer; a great-granddaughter, Brittany Sapp of Fort Smith, Ark. and a grandchild who will be born in March of 1995. Mrs. King was predeceased by her father, Mr. H.O. Carter of Suffolk. She will be sadly missed and will always be loved by her brothers and sisters, Acene Byrum of Spring Grove, Foy Gwaltney, Joy Johnson, Martin Carter, Holmes Carter, Delmar Carter, Don Carter and Peggy Holly, all of Suffolk and Betty Dubose of Anderson, S.C.

A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church - Kilby Shores by the Rev. Clifford McGraw and the Rev. Norwood Starling. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The family requests that donations be made in her name to the Suffolk Pentecostal Holiness Church - Kilby Shores ``Fellowship Hall Building Fund.''
