BANKING
S. Elizabeth Radd was promoted to a vice president with Signet Bank in Virginia Beach. She previously was a branch officer and assistant vice president. Radd has been with the bank since 1977, and manages the bank's branches in Virginia Beach and Chesapeake.
HEALTH CARE
F. Dudley Fulton was elected to the board of directors with the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. Fulton is president and chief executive officer with Henderson & Phillips Insurance in Norfolk.
HOSPITALITY
The Norfolk Hotel and Motel Association elected Daniel Marone president for 1995. Marone is with the Marriott Hotel in Norfolk.
INVESTMENT
Todd D. Green was appointed an investment adviser with Seaboard Investment Advisers in Norfolk. Green, a certified financial adviser, was director of equity research with Goodwin, Bartlett & Greaves-Tunnel Capital Management in New York. He formerly served as portfolio manager with Chase Manhattan.
LAW
The Virginia Beach Bar Association elected Robert L. Samuel Jr. president for the 1995 year. Samuel is with the law firm of Clark and Stant in Virginia Beach.
Amy Grayson Pesesky was named a principal with the Norfolk law firm of Hofheimer, Nusbaum, McPhaul & Samuels. Pesesky, who joined the firm in 1990, specializes in estate planning and administration, federal estate and gift taxation, and income taxation of estates and trusts.
Craig L. Mytelka was named a member of the Norfolk law firm of Payne, Gates, Farthing & Radd. Mytelka has been with the firm for four years and concentrates his practice in the areas of trademark, copyright and unfair competition law.
Pender & Coward elected James B. Lonergan chief executive officer and president, Mark E. Slaughter chief financial officer, and Randolph C. DuVall secretary of its law firm in Virginia Beach. Lonergan has been with the firm since 1979, Slaughter in 1985 and Duvall in 1987.
Michael J. Woods has become a partner with Bruce A. Wilcox in Norfolk. Wood, who specializes in criminal defense, domestic relations and personal injury cases, joined Wilcox in 1993 as an associate after having been a Norfolk police officer from 1976 to 1989.
The law office on North Military Highway will operate as Wilcox & Woods.
MEDIA
Chris Xenakis was named general manager and minority partner with WVAB-Radio in Virginia Beach. Xenakis was general sales manager with WNOR-Radio in Chesapeake. WVAB is owned by Eclipse Media Inc.
Ken Lees was appointed real estate sales manager with The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star in Norfolk. He replaces Christina Bublick who became manager of CareerWeb, the new subsidiary of Landmark Communications Inc. that operates on the Internet. Lees was advertising field sales manager for the Beacon, the newspaper's Virginia Beach area publication.
Also, Ekik Monsen was appointed technical services director with CareerWeb, which will be launched in May. Monsen was a courses program coordinator on the Internet with Tidewater Community College in Norfolk. He serves in an adjunct faculty position with TCC as manager of its International Trade and Business Center.
MID-ATLANTIC
Miles Gilburne has been named senior vice president for corporate development with America Online Inc. in Vienna. Gilburne previously acted as general partner of The Cole Gilburne Fund, an early stage venture capital fund responsible for launching companies such as Macromedia, Shiva and TOPS. More recently, Gilburne and Cole collaborated in building NaviSoft, Inc., an Internet software development company purchased by America Online in November 1994.
REAL ESTATE
Harbor Group Real Estate in Norfolk appointed Steve F. Hallsey president of Harbor Group Management Co., its property management arm. Hallsey joined the firm last November as a vice president with HGRE. He was formerly a senior vice president with Allegiance Realty Group.
The Hampton Roads District Broker Council of Century 21 elected Jim Wool president for 1995. Wool is with Bryan Realty in Newport News.
The Portsmouth/Chesapeake Association of Realtors elected Priscilla LeMoine president for 1995. LeMoine is with Rose and Krueth Realty.
SERVICE
Bill Griggs was elected a board member for a four year term with the International Fabricare Institute, the association of professional dry cleaners and launderers. He will represent members from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Washington D.C., North Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia. Griggs is vice president of Wayside Cleaners Inc. in Portsmouth.
