RUTH N. JONES

Ruth N. Jones, 82, of the 800 block of St. Paul's Blvd., died Feb. 11, 1995 in Sentara Norfolk General.

Mrs. Jones was born in Norfolk and was the widow of John T. Jones. She was a retired custodian for Norfolk Public Schools after 29 years of service. She was a member of Queen Street Baptist Church. She was also member of the Usher Board No. 1, Truevine Club, Helping Hands, Ada Chapter No. 20 OES, P.H., and Elk Lodge No. 1-A. She is predeceased by her father, Thomas W. Wilson.

Survivors include one daughter, Juanita Purvis of Norfolk; two sons, Theodore L. Jones of Oakland, Ca. and Claude M. Jones of Washington, N.J.; mother, Laura D. Wilson; one brother, Rudolph V. Jones of Portsmouth; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of niece and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 15, 1995, at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Peter M. Wherry in Queen Street Baptist Church, 433 Brambleton Ave. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The body will be placed in church at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The family will assemble at her residence. Hale Funeral Home is in charge.
