DRIVERS MURDER

On April 17, 1977, I lost both of my parents to a drunken driver. The man never lost his license and never spent a day in jail.

In my eyes, it is not involuntary manslaughter when someone gets behind the wheel of a car drunk and kills someone. It is murder.

I no longer have my parents, my children do not have their grandparents. I can only show my children pictures and try to tell them how much they would have enjoyed their grandparents.

Eighteen years later, I am still angry at a judicial system that continues to put drunken drivers back on the road.

Two more families are suffering today because on Jan. 21 another drunken driver was allowed to continue to drive. My heart bleeds for their loved ones.
