SAMUEL W. WILLIAMS

QMCM Samuel Watkins Williams USN, Ret., 74, of the 500 block of Gilpin Ave., died Feb. 14, 1995, in a Norfolk hospital.

He was a native of Warren County, N.C., and was retired from the U.S. Navy with 30 years service. He was a survivor of U.S.S. WASP CV-7.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Hicks Williams; one daughter, Linda Ann Erbland, and son-in-law, Dr. Christopher Erbland, both of Libertyville, Ill.; two sisters; three brothers; and three grandchildren, Mark, Patrick, and Samuel. He was preceded in death by two sons, Samuel Watkins Williams Jr. and James Gary Williams.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.
