Talk about a talented group of churchgoers. . . .
There are 22 acts Saturday in the Bethlehem Christian Church Variety Show, some featuring several individuals. All but one performer is a Bethlehem churchgoer.
The show, at Lakeland High School, will earn money for the building fund.
Dancers, singers and instrumentalists will perform country, rock and pop. There will be the familiar - ``Achy Breaky Heart'' and ``The Rose,'' - plus such not-too-familiar items as ``Billy, Does Your Bullfrog Bite?'' and the ever-lovin' ``Talcum Diddlekopper.''
The one performer with no Bethlehem ties is Ney Austin or, as he is known in prestidigitation circles, ``The Great Austini.''
Home-grown talent includes the ``Bethlehem Building Fund Band,'' which will offer such country favorites as ``Except For Monday,'' ``Angels Among Us'' and ``Why Haven't I Heard From You?''
You will hear from Russ Greene as he tackles ``Watermelon Crawl'' and from Kimberly Morris with ``Honey Bun,'' a song from ``South Pacific.''
There will be line-dancing by the Jackson Circle Cowgirls doing ``Boot-Scootin' Boogie.'' A similar offering features little clogger, Nicole Speight, bouncing to ``Amazing Grace.''
Another song at home in churches is ``Sweet Hour of Prayer,'' to be performed on handbells by David Salerno and Jimmy Heffington.
There will also be ``A Singing Sermon'' by Evelyn Graham.
Frank Roberts, a staff writer for The Sun, will be emcee. Refreshments will be served during intermission. by CNB
