MARY E. SAUVAN

Mary Elizabeth Sauvan, 73, of the 1400 block of High St., ``Village at Woods Edge'', died Feb. 15, 1995, in a Franklin hospital.

She was a native of Nansemond County, a retired schoolteacher in Portsmouth, a member of First Baptist Church of Suffolk, Past Matron of Victory Chapter (NU)16 O.E.S. and a member of the Past Matrons & Past Patrons Club. She was the widow of Arthur Vernon Sauvan.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ruth Tilley and Nancy Gardner of Suffolk; three sisters, Martha B. Wright and Ada B. Heffington, both of Suffolk, and Julianne B. Cooper of Upper Montclair, N.J.; a brother, Cyrus Brinkley, Jr. of Norfolk, Va.; and three grandchildren, Michelle Tilley, Dawn Freeman and Brian Freeman.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Loving Funeral Home Chapel, Churchland, by the Rev. Charles Thompson. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will be at 2017 White Marsh Road, Suffolk. Visitation will be from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made To The Village at Woods Edge Fellowship Fund, 1401 N. High St., Franklin, Va. 23851.
