Each year Virginia Beach volunteers give thousands of hours to make the Neptune Festival a source of enjoyment and community pride. To continue supporting their efforts, and to make the festival even bigger and better this year, the Virginia Beach City Council will sponsor the Festival's Grand Parade and the fireworks.
The remainder of the events will be supported as they have been in past years by private sponsorship and fees. Activities for this year's event will include the NAS Oceana Air Show featuring the Blue Angels, Heritage Day, Sandman Triathlon, Country Fair Day, the Sandcastle Classic and the 8-K run and the full spectrum of events citizens and visitors have enjoyed in the past.
On behalf of the City Council and the Neptune Festival Board, we extend our thanks to all the dedicated volunteers who have made the last 21 Neptune Festivals so memorable. Without their help, the festival simply could not exist. We look forward to another successful year with the 1995 Neptune Festival.
