Betty Jane McGhee Ayers, 53, of the 100 block of Patton Place, died Wednesday at her residence.
Mrs. Ayers was born in Henry County, Va., and was the daughter of the late Hattie Young McGhee France and Morris D. McGhee.
She is survived by her husband, Richard E. Ayers of Chesapeake; her son, Todd E. Ayers, also of Chesapeake, and her daughter, Leila A. Paulette of Appomattox, Va.; two sisters, Edna Mae Bush of Lexington, Ky., and Nancy McGhee McElroy of Brookneal, Va.; and her five grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Liberty Chapel Baptist Church, Appomattox, Va., by the Rev. James Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Viewing will be at the church on Saturday, prior to the service, from noon to 2 p.m. Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, is handling arrangements.
