Above, Steve Klus, 11, waits anxiously for his mother, Barbara Klus,
at Norfolk Naval Base on Thursday night. Barbara Klus was serving on
a six-month deployment in Croatia with members of the Navy's Fleet
Hospital Five, including 63 people from the Naval Medical Center in
Portmsouth. While in Croatia, the Navy medics treated some 10,000
U.N. peacekeepers. They were replaced this week by an Air Force
medical team from the West Coast. At right, Barbara says hello to
her son.
