Columnist Guy Friddell was 50 percent correct when he wrote that J.E.B. Stuart and George Henry Thomas should be honored as Virginians on postal stamps (``The war that divided a nation proves divisive once more,'' Feb. 9).
J.E.B. Stuart fought and died with pride for Old Virginia and should be honored. However, George Henry Thomas took up arms against his ``brothers'' and is no less than a traitor.
