The promise of 300 jobs by a mail order company moving to Portsmouth is the best news the city has had in a long time. We need all the jobs we can get.
The announcement of Direct Marketing Enterprises' decision to accept the offers from the city and state to entice them to PortCentre has been a long time coming. We hope construction will be on schedule and that hiring will start by fall.
The deal is closed and the promises are made. Now it's on to the next project for the city's Economic Development Department. We'll be rooting for them! by CNB
