A letter written by Geraline G. Minton concerning the boat tax
(Currents, Jan. 29) contained a typographical error that occurred in
the editing process. The letter should have read, in part: ``In
1993, Mayor Gloria O. Webb and others met with newspaper
representatives to discuss the negative publicity that the city had
received. Hopefully this hasn't influenced or deterred the
newspaper's coverage since.''
