Roger Earl Knight of the 300 block of Nicholson St. died Feb. 17, 1995. Mr. Knight was born in Norfolk, Va., and was formerly employed with the Medical College of Hampton Roads. He was a member of St. Paul C.M.E. Church, formerly attended Norfolk State University and the Army Reserve unit (Gazel St.). Survivors include his daughter Ebony T. Sorrell; his mother Susie V. Knight; three sisters, Vivian C. Knight, Helen Lee, Gwendolyn Wormley; two brothers, Eugene Spellman, Jerry Jones; three aunts Jessie Edmonds, Helen Knight and Luverta Hare; his fiancee Brenda Sorrell. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph D. Knight and sister Rev. Shirley V.K. Budd.
The family wishes to give special thanks and acknowledgement to Dr. Michael Owens and associates; Dr. Sumler Bell and associates; Dr. Michael Rawls and staff; Dr. Fred Given and staff; Cindy Kaland; Linda Lopez; and staff of Medical College of Hampton Roads; the sixth floor staff, Cancer Inst. of Sentara Norfolk Gen. Hospital; Sentara Home Health and Hospice unit; his special nurses Heather and Lora; extra special friends Clarence Christian, Pete Joyner, Ronald Davis, Lucille, Ben Cuffee, Rolando, Little Floyd, M. Palmer, Leon Tucker, Monty Kelly and James King and his companion worker Robert Winston; our coworkers, Norfolk Social Service staff, Little Creek Center; Norview Middle School and Ruffner Middle School.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul C.M.E. Church by the Rev. T.R. McKenny. Burial wll be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
