Franklin S. Kearns, 52, of the 5100 block of Crabtree Lane, died Feb. 18, 1995, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Kearns was born in Portsmouth. He was a salesman for Performance Buick-Pontiac and also worked for Hampton Chevrolet and Bill Lewis Chevrolet. He was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Portsmouth, and the Army Special Forces, Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Melinda R. Kearns; two daughters, Christine Ward of Suffolk and Alyne Kearns of Portsmouth; two sons, Beau F. Kearns of Newport News, Va., and Damien A. Kearns of Portsmouth; his mother, Mary Ada Kearns of Portsmouth; a sister, Joyce Dingivan Hart of Chesapeake; a brother, Beltrum Kearns of Franklin, Va.; two granddaughters, Tia Ward of Suffolk and Sarah Kearns of Newport News; and two grandsons, Tadd Ward of Suffolk and Kurtis Kearns of Newport News.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. Tom Potter. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
