A red Plymouth Horizon from which a man jumped after being shot on Thursday on the Virginia Beach-Norfolk Expressway was found Saturday.
State police said the car was located in the London Bridge area of Virginia Beach.
The man who was shot, Curtis L. Brown Jr., 31, of the 700 block of Wiley Ave. in Norfolk, remained in Virginia Beach General Hospital on Saturday.
His condition was downgraded from serious to critical.
State police said the shooting occurred about 2:25 p.m. near Mount Trashmore. Brown jumped out of the right, rear door of the car.
Two men were in the car when it was last seen heading east from the toll plaza toward the Oceanfront.
State police said the reason for the shooting remains unclear.
