CAREER TRACK

ACCOUNTING

Anne G. Lambiotte was promoted from a business assurance associate to senior associate with the accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand in Norfolk.

ADVERTISING

Angela Rees was promoted from a junior accountant to finance manager with Hambright, Calcagno & Downing Advertising and Public Relations in Virginia Beach.

ARCHITECTURE

Patricia L. Polen, with Hudson & Associates in Hampton, was elected president of the Society of Design Administration. The organizations has 38 chapters in the U.S. and Canada.

BANKING

Sue Blankenship was appointed vice president of lending with Atlantic Fleet Federal Credit Union in Norfolk. Blankenship was a branch manager with Naval Air Federal Credit Union in Virginia Beach.

The Tidewater Mortgage Bankers Association elected Vicki Stephenson president for the 1995 year. Stephenson is with NationsBanc Mortgage Corp. in Virginia Beach.

Central Fidelity Bank in Norfolk appointed Andrew N. Lock and Stacy S. Seabright to vice president positions. Lock and Seabright are senior account managers, Lock for the Eastern region commercial division and Seabright for the Eastern region real estate finance division.

CHAMBER

The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, Chesapeake division, elected Robert A. Hunter chairman for 1995. Hunter is with First Union National Bank of Virginia

SERVICE

Carla Ussery was appointed general manager of the Hampton Roads area with Contel Cellular in Virginia Beach. Ussery has been with the company for four years, most recently as financial manager for the state.

E. Lee Spicer was appointed director of food service design with the interior design planning firm of Alpha Design Corp. in Norfolk. Spicer was president of Design Specific Inc. in Norfolk.

CONSTRUCTION

The Builders & Contractors Exchange elected Richard C. Hudson Jr. president for 1995. Hudson is president of Hudson Building Supply Co. in Virginia Beach.

EDUCATION

Lori A. Neff was appointed admissions officer with Johnson & Wales University, College of Culinary Arts, in Norfolk. She will oversee special events planning. Neff was director of residence life programs with Barton College in Wilson, N.C.

Dana A. Heller, an assistant professor of English at Old Dominion University, received the 1995 Achievement Award for New Scholars from the Conference of Southern Graduate Schools. She was chosen from a group of 13 from the southern region, which encompasses 14 states and more than 200 universities.

Heller, who has a doctorate in English, joined the faculty at ODU in 1990 as a specialist in American literature and gender studies. Her second book, Family Plots: Gender, Romance, and the Private Sphere is scheduled for publication in April.

ENGINEERING

Patton Harris Rust & Associates promoted W. Page Cockrell from director of surveying to branch manager of its Virginia Beach office. Cockrell joined the firm in 1991.

Also, William C. Forbes Jr., an engineer with the firm since 1987, was appointed senior project manager and director of quality control.

The engineering firm also promoted Frederick V. Watkins Jr. from senior project manager to director of engineering.

And, David C. Jackson, who has been with Patton since 1987, was promoted from a project engineer to project manager.

Steven P. Douty was appointed a survey project manager with Miller-Stephenson & Associates in Virginia Beach. Douty was a survey party chief with the Army.

REAL ESTATE

Michael J. Mulhall was appointed vice president of industrial marketing with Hammer Development Co. in Newport News. Prior to joining the commercial real estate firm, Mulhall was a consultant with Jonak & Co., a Norfolk real estate consulting and appraisal firm.

Carlos Rodriguez was appointed general manager with GSHH Construction, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Goodman Segar Hogan Hoffler, in Chesapeake. Rodriquez was director of business development with Armada/Hoffler Construction Co. Rodriquez holds a master's degree in business administration.

CORRECTION

Erik Monsen is technical services director of CareerWeb. His name was misspelled last week.
