Beatrice ``Bea'' ``Big Mama'' Norman, 63, of the 7400 block of Pomona St., a homemaker, died Feb. 17, 1995, at 7416 Pomona St.
Mrs. Norman was born in Norfolk County. She was a member of New Bethel Church of God in Christ. She was president of the Pastor's Aide Committee and vice-president of the Mother's Board and Prayer Warrior. She was predeceased by her parents, Hattie Pettus and William Pettus.
Survivors include her husband, Irvin Norman; four daughters, Joyce Norman, Sharon Jordan, Jacqueline Yancey and Beverly Norman, all of Norfolk; three sons, Irvin Norman Jr., Darrell Norman and Montze Norman, all of Norfolk; three sisters, Mary Brown, Ruth Martin and Rosa Brown, all of Norfolk; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two granddaughters that she raised, Zella and Marie Norman of Norfolk; and a very special brother-in-law, Raymond Norman of Virginia Beach.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Mount Gilead Missionary Baptist Church by Elder Anthony Lilliard. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is handling arrangements. A wake service will be held today at New Bethel COGIC, 7417 Elm St., Norfolk, from 7 to 8 p.m. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
