ALBERT J. HARRIS

Albert ``Al'' Jay Harris, 53, of the 2000 block of Argonne Ave., a painter, died Feb. 19, 1995.

Mr. Harris was born in Portsmouth. He was employed with the Keisser Group. He was a chancellor commander of the Knights of the Pythias Lodge 106 and Charity Lodge 10. He was an Army veteran of the Cuban Campaign and was a member of the National Guard. He was son of the late Roland Shelly and Louise Young Harris.

Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Janet F. Harris of Norfolk; five sisters, Sandra Neal, Deborah Simmons and Eugeine Palmer, all of Norfolk and Norine Bukovina of Palmer, Ohio, and Roslyn Greenuar of DePew, N.Y.; 10 brothers, Paul Lane, Shelly Harris, Michael Harris, Kenneth Harris and Neal Harris, all of Norfolk and Robert Harris of Farmville, Va., Charles Harris of Virginia Beach, Richard Harris of Chesapeake, Maurice Harris of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., and Galen Harris of Elizabeth City, N.C.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Norfolk Chapel of Smith & Williams Funeral Home by Pastor Frank U. Askew. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday night from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or hospice of one's choice.
