PAUL W. MARTIN

Paul W. Martin, 78, of the 100 block of Williams Drive, a retired welder, died Feb. 20, 1995, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

Mr. Martin was born in Springfield, Ill., and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station. He was the widower of Geraldine M. Martin. He was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Sandbridge, Virginia Beach. Mr. Martin volunteered with the Knotts Island Fire Department for many years and was a member of Ironworkers Local (NU)79.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Martin of Charlotte Courthouse, Va. and Mary King of Knotts Island; two sons, Paul Martin Jr. of Edenton, N.C. and Thomas Martin of Portsmouth; a sister, Pauline Browder of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Patrick Martin of San Jose, Calif., and Michael Martin of Springfield, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine McAlister.

A Mass will be held at the Tabernacle Methodist Church, Sandbridge, at 10 a.m. Thursday by Father Dwight E. Schrader. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Contributions may be made to Knotts Island Fire and Rescue, P.O.
