Norfolk Mayor Paul D. Fraim will host a citizen workshop called ``Community Partnerships for Effective Neighborhood Code Enforcement'' from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, at Lafayette-Winona Middle School.
The workshop is designed to inform citizens about the city's codes enforcement process, involve citizens in improving their neighborhoods, highlight the role of civic leagues and some of today's successful examples, and open up opportunities for meaningful dialogue.
There will be a panel discussion on codes enforcement. Panel members will be citizens currently involved in neighborhood improvement and city staff from city planning and codes administration, police and the PACE program, public works, parks and recreation, and public health. Representatives from city departments and civic leagues also will man tables to answer questions and discuss operational areas and issues of general interest.
