A payment schedule for Hunterdale residential property owners was approved by City Council at its Feb. 13 meeting.
The sewer connection fee is $1,000 and beginning April 1, applicants for sewer service will be billed the sum of $40 per month for 25 consecutive months with the final payment due April 20, 1997.
It is contemplated that the sewer line will be completed on or about November 1996, and since property owners have a period of six months thereafter to connect to the line, the final payment should coincide with the expiration of the six-month availability period.
The 59 property owners who have made application for service will be notified that the City will bill them beginning April 1.
Property owners who have not applied for service will be mailed an application immediately and those who apply by March 10 are eligible for the monthly payment plan with billing to begin on April 1. These citizens will be able to connect to the sewer system when it is available even though all payments may not have been made by this time.
The property owners who elect to forego the payment plan will pay in lump sum at anytime before connection to the system, but no later than six months after the line is declared available by the City. by CNB
