Mildred S. Carney, 50, of the 2300 block of Elizabeth Harbor Drive, died Feb. 20, 1995.
Mrs. Carney was employed with Portsmouth General Hospital for 20 years. She was a member of Union Bethel Baptist Church, where she was also a deaconess, member of the Senior Choir, Missionary Society and Sunday School. She was a member of Pleasant Star Chapter (NU)132 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Hosea Carney; two daughters, Monica Carney and Shantel Bunch; her mother, Catherine Smith; four sisters, Mary Elliott, Florence Jefferson, Linda Debrough and Corlis Smith; and three brothers, Leon Smith Jr., Darrell Smith and Larry Jackson.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Union Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Ralph D. Harris. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens, Suffolk. The family will be at the residence. Fisher Funeral Home, Portsmouth, is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
