Marvel Land Yates, 82, of the 600 block of Dune St., died Feb. 21, 1995, in Virginia Beach.
She was a native of Norfolk and was the widow of William Franklin Yates Jr. She attended McKendree United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one son, Robert R. Yates of Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Ellis Land of Norfolk; two nephews, William T. Goodson Jr. and Ellis Wayne Land, both of Virginia Beach; one niece, Vicki Lynn Moye of Virginia Beach; two great-nephews, Billy and Gary Wayne; and four great-nieces, Nicole, Holly, Cindy and Sandy.
The funeral will be conducted at 2p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Eugene Larkin. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
