Emma Lee Weaver, 67, of the 100 block of Island Road, died Wednesday in a Chesapeake hospital.
Mrs. Weaver was born in South Mills and was the daughter of Amy Kelly Williams of South Mills and the late George G. Williams Sr. She was a nurse for Dr. W. Stanley Jennings for 19 years. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Other survivors include her husband, John Wesley Weaver Sr. of South Mills; one daughter, Amy Louisa Hill of Chesapeake; four sons, Hershell Lee Weaver of Elizabeth City and George Henry Weaver, John W. Weaver Jr. and Tony Damon Weaver, all of South Mills; four sisters, Elsie Hillard of Silver Spring, Md., Edith Miller of Aulander, N.C., Afreda McFarland of Portsmouth and Shirley Whitehurst of South Mills; one brother, George G. Williams Jr. of Chesapeake; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. Hugh Mizzell and the Rev. Ray Simmons. Interment will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the residence, 131 Island Road, South Mills. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Ebenezer Baptist Church, South Mills, N.C. 27976.
