S. SPENCER KISER JR.

S. Spencer Kiser Jr., 47, of the 100 block of Mariners Court, died Feb. 21, 1995, at Louise Obici Hospital.

He was a native of Valdosta, Ga., and was a graduate of Valdosta State College. Upon graduation, he taught science for one year at HahiraMiddle School, Hahira, Ga.

He joined Continental Telephone Company of Virginia in September 1972 and entered the company's management development program where he served in various management positions. Upon completion of his management training he was promoted to customer service manager in Amherst, Va. He subsequently held management jobs throughout the state of Virginia and was currently in the position of Transmission and Protection Administration with GTE in Smithfield, Va.

He was a member of Providence United Methodist Church, Suffolk, where he served as a trustee and was a member of its Faith Bible Class and Men's Group. He was a past member of Chesapeake Lions Club and Franklin Rotary Club. He was a charter member and member of Founders Club of CBN, Virginia Beach.

Survivors include his wife, Beverley Keeling Kiser; one daughter, Sara Lynne Kiser; his parents, Audrey Allbritton and Silas Spencer Kiser Sr. of Suffolk; a brother, M. Wayne Kiser of Suffolk; and six nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Colonial Funeral Home Chapel, Smithfield, by the Rev. Robert Vaughn. Interment will be at St. Luke's Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and suggest that memorial contributions be made to Providence United Methodist Church, 3105 Providence Road, Suffolk, Va. 23430, or Operation Blessing, 977 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach, Va. 23463.
