Elizabeth H. Spencer, 91, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 24, 1995 in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Miss Spencer was born in Norfolk. She was a graduate of Maury High School and Fredricksburg State Normal School. She taught in Norfolk schools for 30 years and worked with the U.S.O. in Alaska and Japan after retirement.
During the summer of 1975, she visited missionaries in Europe and participated in Eurofest in Brussels, Belgium.
She was a member of Virginia Beach Community Chapel for many years.
She is survived by a niece, Nancy Spencer of Virginia Beach and several great-nieces.
A memorial service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. in Virginia Beach Community Chapel, 1261 Laskin Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be sent to the Mission Fund at the Community Chapel.
