BANKING
Emory J. Dunning Jr. was named senior vice president, treasurer and chief financial officer with Life Savings Bank in Norfolk. He will oversee the bank's financial division. Dunning, a certified public accountant, has been with Life Savings since 1980. He most recently served as a vice president and controller.
The bank also promoted Matthew E. Brown from assistant controller to an assistant vice president and controller. He will manage the accounting department.
Central Fidelity Bank in Norfolk promoted John C. Brogan IV and Andrew D. Perkins to vice president positions.
Brogan is senior account manager and Perkins is a senior manager of loan review for the eastern region commercial division. Both have been with the bank since 1987.
MEDIA
Harry M. Runkle Jr. was appointed sales manager with Home Express and Commonwealth Printing Co. in Virginia Beach. Runkle has been a sales representative with The Virginian-Pilot and The Ledger-Star in Norfolk since 1984.
Home Express and Commonwealth Printing are subsidiaries of the Norfolk newspapers.
HOSPITALITY
Susan M. Stuntz was named director of communications with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Stuntz, who holds a master's degree in journalism, was formerly an independent consultant with the Tobacco Institute in Washington D.C.
ORGANIZATIONS
The Credit Professional International Association elected Veronica Graham president. Graham is with the state Department of Social Services, child support enforcement division.
The Hampton Roads Coal Association elected Terri L. Smith president for the 1995 year. Smith is with Commercial Testing and Engineering Co. in Norfolk.
ADVERTISING
Nina Seabright was appointed director of public relations with Kelley, Reilly and Smith, the public relations arm of Ad-Ventures Advertising in Virginia Beach. Seabright was a formerly public relations specialist with Jackson Hewitt Tax Service.
MUSEUMS
The Mariners Museum in Newport News elected Brenton S. Halsey chairman of its board of trustees. He has served on the museum board since 1987. Halsey is chairman emeritus of the James River Corp. in Richmond.
The museum also appointed Mita Vail vice president of development. She will be responsible for membership, corporate and foundation giving, government grants and expansion plans.
Vail has served in the same position with WHRO-TV in Norfolk since 1989.
Kim L. Maher was named executive director/chief executive officer with the Virginia Air and Space Center and Hampton Roads History Center in Hampton. He will oversee operations and planning of the $30 million center.
Maher held the same position with the Museum of Discovery and Science in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
