Catherine M. Payne, 82, formerly of Lawrence Circle, died Feb. 24, 1995, in Westland, Mich.
Mrs. Payne was born in East St. Louis, Ill. and was a longtime resident of Portsmouth. She had been a floral designer for Kevill's Flower Shop for many years and was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Montague-Atkins of Westland, Mich.; a son, Samuel T. Montague III of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a brother, Clarence R. Small of Chicago; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Meadowbrook Mausoleum Chapel, Suffolk, by the Rev. Clifford A. Olsen. Friends may join the family today from 5 to 6 p.m. at Foster Funeral Home.
