FORREST D. JORDAN

Forrest D. ``Bill'' Jordan, 65, of Dory Drive in Virginia Beach, died Feb. 26, 1995, in his home.

Mr. Jordan was born in Danville, Va., and was the son of the late Irvin and Maxie Jordan. Bill was chairman of the board and owner of American Steel Erection Corporation from 1967 to 1984. His company was known throughout Tidewater as the builder of the Hampton Coliseum, the Volvo Production Plant in Chesapeake and the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the Aragona Moose Lodge 1198, the V.F.W. Post 392, the American Legion, and a member of London Bridge Baptist Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Anne Jordan of Virginia Beach; three sons, Forrest Jordan Jr. and Keith Jordan, both of Virginia Beach, and Barry Jordan of Norfolk; three stepdaughters, Christine Shumate of Wytheville, Va., Debra Dowdy of Chesapeake and Mary Ellen Doughtie of Virginia Beach; a stepson, Anthony Zanni of Hawaii; 14 grandchildren; and his first wife, Dorothy H. Jordan.

A chapel service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1995, in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel. Burial will be in Princess Anne Memorial Park. There will be a visitation Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Children's Star Light Foundation.
