Mr. John LaFayette Parrish, 83, of Route 3, died Sunday, in Britthaven Nursing Home in Edenton. A native of Chowan County, Mr. Parrish was a son of the late George L. and Millie Roberta White Parrish. Mr. Parrish was a retired farmer and a member of the Rocky Hock Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah Nixon Parrish; two daughters, Marjorie P. Carver of Edenton and Shirley P. Vochatzer of Independence, Mo.; three sons, Edward Parrish of Newport News, John (J.D.) Parrish and Russell Wayne Parrish, both of Edenton. There is one sister, Evelyn Moyers of Edenton; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Rocky Hock Baptist Church by the Rev. Donald Wagner. Burial will follow in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will be at the residence of John and Lois Parrish. Evans/Williford-Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
