Elsie Butner Hight, 73, of DeKalb Avenue, died Feb. 28, 1995, in a Portsmouth hospital.
She was a native of Winston-Salem, N.C., a member of Alexander Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and was the daughter of the late Malcolm G. Butner.
Survivors include her husband, Edward J. Hight; a daughter, Janet H. Boone of Chesapeake; her mother, Cloie Collins Butner of Spencer, N.C.; a brother, Malcolm Wade Butner of Salisbury, N.C.; and a grandchild, Danielle Boone.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Alan G. Moor. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. today and other times at 4200 Genoa Crescent, Chesapeake.
