The estranged husband of a Newport News woman who was killed last week turned himself in to Norfolk police Tuesday. He was charged with first-degree murder.
Leroy R. Etheridge, 37, of the 5000 block of Kennebeck Ave. in Norfolk, surrendered after learning that police were looking for him, said Newport News police spokeswoman Patricia L. Mahaffy.
Etheridge is charged with killing Mary Ann Etheridge of the 1000 block of Faubus Drive on Feb. 23.
