Old Dominion University center Odell Hodge didn't make the 1994-95 All-Colonial Athletic Association team. Hodge, out since early in the season with a knee injury, was chosen for something far more prestigious.
Hodge joined ex-Navy center David Robinsion, James Madison guard Steve Hood and Richmond forward Johnny Newman and guard Curtis Blair on the league's All-Decade team, announced Thursday by CAA headquarters.
``That's great,'' Hodge said moments before embarking on his daily rehabilitative workout for the torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered in December. ``With me getting hurt, for someone still to recognize me gives me more (incentive) to work with on my comeback.''
Last year, Hodge was the first sophomore since Robinson to be named conference player of the year. He finished fourth in voting for player of the decade, behind Robinson, Hood and Blair. ODU's Petey Sessoms, with six, was the only other Monarch to receive votes.
Former ODU player and coach Oliver Purnell finished third behind Richmond's Dick Tarrant and JMU's Lefty Driesell in voting for coach of the decade. by CNB
